This website presents the areas of interest, the services and the activities of the office of Konstantinos Gakis.

Konstantinos “Kostas” Gakis is a Professional Engineer based in Thessaloniki, Greece. His activities are now focused on four areas of interest:

  • Public Administration Reform
  • Public Sector Efficiency Improvement
  • Innovation
All three areas rank high in the priorities of most governments in the world, viewing the topics from different angles depending on the level of development of each country.

Technological advances in Information and Communication Technologies (“ICTs”) bring new challenges for the advancement of state institutions and lead to the emergence of new models for governance.

EIB has signed its first Operational Agreement for the creation of the UDF of Crete
Over the next four years, the Urban Development Fund (UDF) will invest about 15 million euros in urban development projects in the Region of Crete, aiming to support sustainable urban regeneration investment that will contribute to enhancement of competitiveness, social cohesion and sustainability of urban areas of Crete. The investment portfolio of JESSICA may include urban development projects in the following areas: upgrade of depressed urban areas, development of high technology clusters and basic infrastructure in waste water management, energy networks, energy efficiency improvement etc.

Electronic Governance in Local Government
Within the context of the Training Programme for Regional and City Councilors for the transition to the new administrative structure of the country (the "Kallikrates" Program), EETAA has published various information pamphlets. Kostas Gakis wrote on the issue of "Electronic Governance in Self-Government" which briefly presents some important e-government issues to be confronted by the new Municipal and Regional Councils
